Den Meeting - Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Hi Wolf Family,

Our Den Meeting will be this Wednesday, December 12 at 7:00 pm - Davis School.  As busy as it is, we head full steam into the Christmas season! We will have a fun craft for our little guys and had out their achievement beads toward their wolf badges for the work they've done so far!  Please bring the boy's handbooks so we know what sign offs need to be addressed. We'll have snacks for the Den Meeting so eat dinner accordingly!

For the Pack Meeting next week (December 19), we'll be caroling at Bethel Towers in Costa Mesa, so we'll be practicing our songs. I'll bring in some lyric sheets to hand out.

We'll also share information from last week's Parent Meeting.

Parent Meeting - Wednesday, December 5, 2012

 
Tomorrow, our December parent meeting will be held at Paulerino School at 7:00 pm. We will discuss the Christmas Caroling meeting this month, Tahquitz and the Midway fundraiser.
 
Also, registration fees and/or applications are due! If you have not submitted the necessary fees and paperwork, please do so at tomorrow night's meeting.

Pack Meeting Tomorrow - November 28

Hello,
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the November Pack meeting. We have wards to give out for the Oso campout, summer campout, and some belt loops.
We also will have signups for the Winter Campout at Tahquitz.
Then we will honor our new bobcats with a ceremony.
REMINDER Registration is DUE TOMMORROW, for ALL Scouts Cost is $55 for Scout and $16 for Adult. All adults participating MUST turn in an application. and be YPT trained.


you will have to create a new account, and then take the training. PLEASE print a verification at the end and give it to me so I can hand it in with your applications.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Message from the Pack Master!

Just a reminder there is NO PACK MEETING THIS WEEK! School is out and so are we.
We resume next week, November 28, with our Pack meeting at Paularino at 6:45.

All Scouts and Parents:
Registration and Dues for Next year are due by next Wednesday's Pack meeting. Cost is $55 per Scout and $16 per adult. Remember this year ALL active parents signed up in the Pack must be REGISTERED. If your are currently registered, you only have to pay dues, you do not have to fill out another application.

If you plan on taking part you have to register. At the VERY LEAST Each of you HAS to complete Youth Protection training (YPT) before I can turn in your applications. It is online and takes about 20 minutes to complete. (very easy) I cannot turn in your applications until you take the training, please try to do ASAP!! Please do it before Wednesday and bring the certificate to the meeting. I cannot turn in applications without them.

Let's "Go See It"!

Dear Wolf Family,

We have an exciting "Go See It" event planned for this Saturday, November 17th! We will be visiting Fire Station # 3 at Royal Palm and Adams St. (across from Carl's Jr.)!

We will meet out in front of the station at 3:00 pm, please arrive on time. Don't forget to wear your full uniform!

We will be scheduling a future visit if you cannot make this event on Saturday, so don't worry if you cannot make it.

Hi Wolf Families!

How awesome was our snack table last night?!

In fact, the whole party was pretty awesome!

Thank you all for your amazing contributions to last night's snack for the Pack Meeting / Halloween Extravaganza! I don't know about your kid(s), but mine was a filthy, sweaty, covered in sugar mess and he had a spectacular time! He woke up wanting donuts this morning....I guess having donuts smeared all over your face and hair just isn't enough!

Our next Den Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 pm. We'll meet at our usual place at Davis School. We'll have snack for next week's meeting and we can decide how we want to handle snacks and/or meals for future meetings that night.

Remember to bring your homework with you. The "Keep Your Body Healthy" document that Steve handed out as we left the last meeting. Each completed activity brings you one step closer to your next badge so don't forget!

Pack Meeting - Halloween Party

Hi Wolf Families!

We had a great meeting tonight. The kids are learning about our nation's flag, what it stands for and how to respect it. Thanks to Den Leader, Steve and all of our parent helpers for their assistance in our meetings! Your boys should have taken home a document called "Achievement 3a: Keep Your Body Healthy". Have your boys mark the check boxes for every time they do the task listed.

As we discussed, next week's Pack meeting is our Halloween Party! Our den is in charge of providing snack and we need to plan to feed about 80 kids. Here is a list of who signed up and what they signed up to provide:

We're Back!

I hope you all had a wonderful summer! We're gearing up for another fun year of scouting with our Wolves and we're starting....NOW!!!

Our first Parent meeting is NEXT WEDNESDAY Sept 5th at Paularino School at 7:00 pm.  We will be talking about...
  • Our first Pack meeting - Sept 12th - Need ideas for an activity or guest speaker.
  • Recruitment - When who where?
  • Popcorn Sales - You should have received your order forms, start selling
  • Spring Camp out - we will start sign ups for Oso Lake Oct 5-7th.  Fishing, BB Gun, Archery, and more!
  • Fundraising for USS MIDWAY - Date is first weekend in June, we need to fund raise to pay for the $85 per person cost.

Cub Scout Graduation - Sunday June10



Wow, time flies!

Cub Scout Graduation is THIS Sunday, at 2pm at Halecrest.  Just wanted to remind everyone so you don't forget.  Boys who earned it, will get their rank (if they didn't earn it at blue and gold) and all boys will get scarves to signify their Graduation into the next Rank.

Parent Meeting - Thursday, June 7th

Because of open house at both Paularino and Davis, we are having our parent meeting 
THIS THURSDAY  at 6 PM at Tewinkle Park.
 
We will try to grab one of the gazebos and a few tables to have our parent meeting.  You can bring your kids to play while we meet.
 
There has also been talk of getting pizza, (little Cesar's)  if anyone is interested, and/or would like to pick up - speak up.  We can either have the pack pay, or the families eating can pitch in to pay for the pizzas ($5 each)
 
We will cover graduation, and summer plans.

Cub Scouts - Memorial Day Service


We have arranged for the boys to have an oppurtunity to help on Memorial day at Harbor Lawn Cemetary to honor our fallen Veterans.  There is two ways to help:
Saturday the 26th at 9am:  Be in full uniform at the Cemetary to place flags on grave markers.  Bring a large Phillips screwdriver to help put in the flags.
Monday the 28th 9:50am:  Meet at the cemetary to take part in the memorial Day Ceremony.
There will be many Boy Scouts there to help out.  Troop 711 is the Troop we contacted and are working with (Lou Kirk), but Troop 339 may be there as well, as well as many others from Costa Mesa.
I will not be there, we have other plans.  So if you go just talk to one of the Boy Scout leaders to find out how you can help.
The cemetary is located  at the corner of Gisler and Harbor, across from TeWinkle School.

Pack Meeting - Wednesday, May 16


Hello!
 
Tomorrow is our Pack meeting at Paularino Starting Promptly at 6:45.  We have ALOT to cover.
 
We are going to play Ultimate Frizbee (belt loop) First, then come in for awards.
 
Pinewood derby trophies will be there (they should arrive today)  And all the boys that were at the last pack meeting will get their Geologist belt loop.  In addition to any other awards to be handed out.
 
We will also Vote on best of Show for PINEWOOD DERY>  PLEASE remember to bring your CARS.
 
We will also start sign ups for SUMMER campout.

Den Meeting - Thursday, May 10 at 7:00 pm

Hi Tigers!

We'll be meeting this Thursday (tomorrow), May 10 at 7:00 pm at Davis School in the office/library! We'll continue to work on our Mother's Day craft so we our cubs can present them to their awesome Moms this Sunday! There is lots to talk about, especially if you didn't have the chance to go to this month's parent meeting. Hope to see you there!

Parent Meeting - Wednesday, May 2


Our monthly parent meeting is tomorrow at  7pm at Paularino.  We will finish planning for Scout O Rama and begin signups to run the booth.  We also need to plan May's Pack meeting, and begin talking about graduation.
 
THis is also your last chance to get SCOUT O Rama tickets.  They are $10 each.  YOU DON"T WANT TO MISS SCOUT O RAMA.  The Pack still has lots of books left, we can only return a percentage so if we don't sell them the Pack will have to pay for them.

Pack Meeting - Wednesday April 18

Hello!!
I trust you all had a Great Spring break, and are ready for the "home stretch" to June.

Wednesday, April 18th is our Pack meeting starting at 6:45 at Paularino.  We will be doing our Scout O Rama Activitiy which is Gold Panning.  And also earning the geologist belt loop.

Be there ON TIME and IN FULL UNIFORM to be entered in the Raffle.  We have had issues with this in the past, Scouts will only get a raffle ticket if they are ONE TIME (6:45) and in Full Uniform.

Also bring your checkbooks for Scout o Rama tickets (you don't want to miss it).

Hi Tiger Families!

Tyler's Dad, Jeff, has been most gracious and has agreed to help us with our pinewood derby cars this Sunday, April 15th at 2p.m.

The Pinewood Derby Shop will be at Karena's (Tyler's Mom) garage  located at:

801 Grayling Bay, in Costa Mesa  MAP
(near/ between Baker, Bristol and Paularino).

I'll have some car kits, but please let me know if you think you need one so we're sure to have enough for everyone.

Parent Meeting - April 4, 2012 - 7:00 pm

At our last parent meeting, we decided to do "Gold Panning" for our Booth at Scout o Rama.  Doug has picked up the trough, but we need a place to store it until Scout o Rama.  If anyone has a little space in their garage, we would really appreciate the temporary storage.  Please let me know.
 
Don't forget to purchase your Scout o Rama books, and Pinewood Derby cars (there is a division for parents as well as siblings)!

Tiger Cub Meeting - Thursday, March 29

Hi Tiger Cub Families,

We'll have our next meeting this week on Thursday, March 29th at 7:00 pm. Please meet at Davis School in the smaller room adjacent to the library.

We will be designing our Pinewood Derby cars and making plans to get them cut out. We will also try to complete one more elective to help get our den closer to their 1st elective bead.

Pack Meeting - Wednesday March 21 at 6:45 pm

Hello,

We have a Pack meeting this Wednesday at Paularino.  We will start PROMPTLY at 6:45.  Webelos have Opening so please arrive early.

We will have the Order of the Arrow native american dancers performing.  Should be fun!

As of this morning, we only have 60 people signed up for the Irvine Lake campout this weekend.  If you still want to go, I need to know ASAP otherwise I am gonna release the sites to the other groups and try to get a refund on the sites on hold.

We will also begin selling Pinewood derby Kits on Weds for $5 per kit.  Be sure to bring money!!

See's candy should also be available for you to get your orders filled.

GO SEE IT! Tiger Cubs at TBN


Our Tiger Cubs had a wonderful opportunity to visit Trinity Broadcast Network today so they could check off another requirement in the Tiger Cub handbook. We toured the TV studio and learned some history about the building and the network itself.

Thanks to our great tour guide, Antonio, for taking the time to lead our kids through the building and teach them some history!

Requirement 4G - Go See It!

Hi Tiger Cubs and Families,

With the help of Mark's Dad, we've been able to set up a great "Go To See It" opportunity. We'll be touring TBN's Radio/TV Station. The information for the event is as follows:



 Saturday - Feb. 4th  - TBN Studios

Trinity Christian Center International
3150 Bear St.
Costa Mesa, California 92626

  • The boys need to be there when they open at 11:00 am.  
  • At 11:15am sharp. Antonio, the Security Guard, will walk the boys and parents through the Radio/TV station for a brief view and overview.  It should last approximately 15 - 20 minutes.

  • We anticipate about 20-25 persons (just our tiger group) to attend the event.  Carol-Lee in the gift shop set this all up for us.

Email Message from Steven Secrest!

Hi Tigers and Families:
 
We're in need of two more sign offs for Adam to get the Tiger Badge before Feb 12th Blue and Gold, I know some of you also need the same two sign offs for:  #3 Go see it (page) 60 sporting event,
#4 Go see it (page 69) Visit a radio station.  Mark's Dad, Mr. Casey, is trying to get a time this week or next for TBN visit, stay tuned for more information about that!

Please pray for his Aunt who is the contact for this tour who has recently fallen very ill, that she may make a full, quick recovery. Mr. Casey, could you please reply to all to let us know about your Aunt's health?

Thank you to  Andrew's Mom Jenny who also has some great ideas for the sign off.

Additionally, please be sure to work on these sign offs: #1 go see it (go to the library), #3 family (plan a fire drill) and #4 family  (share with your family about your day and be a good listener when other family members are sharing about their day, around the dinner table)
